FREE-ISH: RUMINATIONS OF AN OBEDIENT NEGRO- an experimental, immersive video installation- explores the fragile conditions of freedom under life-time parole — the paradox of being deemed “fit to reenter society” while remaining subject to ongoing surveillance and conditional belonging, where obedience is rendered a condition of survival rather than compliance.

ARS MORIENDI-The Immersive Experience navigates the intricate duality of violence, exploring its capacity to devastate while acting as an unexpected catalyst for transformation. From the dual vantage of survivor and former enactor of harm, 2RUTH7’s work moves between the raw rupture of destruction and the delicate reconstruction of self-realization.

"UNCLEAN: Is Urban Trauma The New Leprosy?" is an innovative multi-disciplinary narrative project delves into the historical and contemporary parallels between the treatment of lepers in centuries past, and the present day treatment of urban trauma survivors.
Contemporary stories from urban trauma survivors incarcerated for violent infractions will center society’s continued reliance on incarceration to address deadly comorbid symptoms found in under-resourced communities – specifically communities of color. Juxtaposing these time periods will highlight the way that skin presentation, specifically, has unduly determined the fate of afflicted community members across time.
