FOUNDER
is a poet, multimedia artist, and social justice advocate whose work interrogates the intersections of urban trauma, violence, and mass incarceration. After spending over a decade using spoken word to unearth personal and systemic narratives of harm, resilience, and accountability, in 2023, Evelyn founded Explanations From Exile (EFE), a multimedia arts justice initiative committed to amplifying marginalized voices and challenging systemic inequities.

His practice blends art, activism, and critical reflection, bridging personal experience with collective struggle. Through storytelling and visual media Evelyn aims to produce projects which evoke dialogue and inspire transformation. EFE’s projects are meditative and confrontational, shifting between visceral intensity and introspection –inviting audiences to reckon with uncomfortable truths while imagining futures rooted in justice and restoration. By centering the lived experiences of impacted communities, Evelyn redefines how we engage with empathy, accountability, and meaningful change.
